Toyota Announces Pricing of the All-New 2025 4Runner

For over 40 years, the Toyota 4Runner has been a cornerstone in the SUV market, admired for its durability, off-road capabilities, and rugged charm. In 2025, the sixth-generation 4Runner will continue this legacy with modernized features, powerful engine options, and expanded trim levels to suit a variety of drivers.

Powertrain Options and Performance

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner offers two robust powertrains designed for versatility and performance:

  1. i-FORCE 2.4L turbocharged engine: Standard on most trims, this turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 278 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes with either part-time or full-time 4WD, depending on the grade.
  2. i-FORCE MAX Hybrid: The first-ever hybrid 4Runner combines the 2.4L turbo engine with a 48-horsepower electric motor, producing an impressive 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. The hybrid system and an eight-speed transmission add serious towing capacity and efficiency.

New Grades and Features

Toyota has expanded the 4Runner lineup to include eight distinct grades, offering everything from off-road-focused trims to premium luxury options. Notable additions include the first-ever Trailhunter and Platinum grades.

Core Gasoline-Powered Grades:

  • SR5 ($54,200): Seven-passenger configuration with standard features like part-time 4WD, heated front seats, LED lighting, Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and an 8-inch touchscreen.
  • TRD Sport ($59,002): Adds sport-tuned suspension, TRD styling cues, 20-inch wheels, a moonroof, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster.
  • Limited ($68,999): Luxury-focused, featuring full-time 4WD, leather seating, power back door, Adaptive Variable Suspension, and a premium 14-speaker JBL audio system.
  • TRD Off Road Premium ($63,702): Tailored for trail enthusiasts with Bilstein shocks, crawl control, locking rear differential, and Multi-Terrain Select.

Hybrid i-FORCE MAX Grades:

  • TRD Pro ($80,498): The ultimate off-road performer with FOX shocks, TOYO all-terrain tires, and unique TRD enhancements like skid plates and performance exhaust.
  • Trailhunter ($84,201): Factory-built for overlanding adventures with Old Man Emu shocks, a high-mounted air intake, rock rails, and a 2400-watt AC power outlet.
  • Platinum ($73,698): A luxurious five-passenger SUV featuring semi-aniline leather, head-up display, rain-sensing wipers, digital rearview mirror, and exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels.

Modern Design and Technology

Built on Toyota’s TNGA-F global truck platform, which is shared with the Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia, the 2025 4Runner improves on-road comfort and structural strength. Its design retains signature elements like the power rear window but now features a higher stance and athletic body lines.

The cabin balances rugged durability with modern convenience. The Toyota Multimedia system is standard across all models, and higher trims feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and cloud-based navigation. Premium trims include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, while top models include a 14-inch touchscreen and a 14-speaker JBL audio system.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Every 2025 4Runner comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, offering advanced features such as:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
  • Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
  • Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

These safety systems ensure confidence both on and off the road.
